Bat Removal
Bats are a very important species that do a lot of good for all of us and we never realize it. One good example would be the fact that a single bat can consume 600 to 800 insects a night. A single colony of bats with 100 bats would consume 60,000 to 80,000 insects in one night flight. If bats were taken out of our environment just imagine the explosion of a common night flying species of insect, the mosquito and how quickly the mosquito would quickly get out of control and affect our lives.
Bat removal can be done with out the use of bat traps or bat nets that can actually harm them. Many bats in fact are endangered & protected species. We at Owen Animal Control apply sound, environmentally safe techniques that remove the bats from your home permanently and make your home bat proof so no other bat colonies can re-enter your house. The process that we use is called bat exclusion, where we employ one way directional valves that allow the bats to exit and not re-enter your home again. We inspect the home thoroughly, identify bat access points and offer you a bat control guarantee to get rid of bats from your home permanently.
Bat removal- Owen Animal Control has been trained by the leading Bat Expert in the bat control industry for getting rid of bats. By understanding the bats life cycle, and bat habits, we provide bat proofing of homes and bat proofing buildings. We perform bat waste clean up of bat dropping, bat guano, bat damage, and the bat damaged, urine soaked insulation. To complete the bat dropping clean up we decontaminate the bat guano, disinfect the area of possible bat diseases, and deodorize the attic of foul bat odor, and reinstall new pest control insulation by our trained and Certified Bat Control Specialist.
Bird Removal
There is numerous bird species and a few are non-native species considered to be nuisance’s birds in urban, rural and farm crop production areas. Birds sometimes can be a nuisance and health risk to humans and carry diseases such as: histoplasmosis, toxoplasmosis, encephalitis, Salmonella typhimurium, e-coli. These diseases can be transferred to people when birds use building and homes to roost and live in. Birds dropping and the birds nesting material can ruin attic insulation and create a fire hazard. Problem birds can get into small opening in homes and building, such as gaps in building construction, soffits and can be the cause of noise in attic, plug up dryer vents that possible cause a fire, roost above cars and side walks and the bird poop is unsightly. Birds can nest on bill boards and business signs that cause unsightly damage to the advertising sign. When birds roost on tall building and there window sills and ledges, the bird dropping can cover the building walls and also be unsightly. Bird poop is acidity and causes damages to the building walls, especially old historical sand stone buildings. Not to mention the bird dropping that fall to the sidewalk and needs to be cleaned up every day to prevent a health hazard. Major bird damage and excessive bird dropping can cause extensive building repairs and is a human health hazard which will require specialized trained personal and equipment to clean up the bird waste safely.

Michigan Wildife Control Company Now Tap Certified Attic Restoration Installation Replacement
OWEN ANIMAL CONTROL BECOMES A CERTIFIED
ATTIC RESTORATION INSULATION INSTALLATION COMPANY

Owen Animal Control is pleased to be able to announce that the following employees have successfully passed the certification exam for the use and installation of T.A.P. (Thermal, Acoustic, and Pest Control) Insulation, a material that possesses superior insulating properties combined with fire-resistance, and the ability to exclude and eliminate a wide range of insect pests. The intensive, two day seminar included both classroom instruction and the actual, hands-on installation of T.A.P. Insulation in an under insulated attic.
Trained and Certified Staff:
Tobias Hatfield Miguel Tello
Francisco Gonzales Steve Edgar
Randy Owen Tom Morgan
David Walker Jim Felgenauer
Dave Kidd Craig Fowler
John D. Elliot, Training Specialist and field support agent for Thermal, Acoustic, Pest Control Insulation, took everyone through two days of classroom instruction and an actual hands-on installation of this revolutionary product. Subjects included an historical perspective on the use and development of the insulation, Department of Energy recommendations in our area, how to calculate R factors and determine how much product is needed, inspection guidelines, set up procedures, equipment needs and preparation, and safety issues. Then everyone participated in the actual installation of T.A.P Insulation.
The all Natural TAP insulation is an environmentally friendly product made from recycled natural fibers, and contains no asbestos, glass fibers or formaldehyde. This “GREEN PRODUCT” reuses materials that would typically end up taking landfill space.
SUPERIOR THERMAL INSULATION PROPERTIES; leads to buildings that are warmer in the winter, and less drafty, and cooler in the summer by limiting all three methods of heat transfer: convection, conduction, and radiant. This means greater comfort and lower heating and cooling costs.
Acoustical Sound Deadening: The custom installation of the TAP material forms to every nook and cranny of attic space even the oddly shaped areas around obstacles like plumbing, fans, ducts, and wiring. This prevents heat loss in winter, cool air loss in summer, and acts as a barrier to the sun’s heat. Noises are also effectively deadened.
Fire Resistance: TAP improves fire safety, as its proprietary two-stage process injects dry and liquid fire retardants that permeates the fibers adding both strength and fire resistance. If a fire does occur, a charred surface barrier is formed that limits the spread of the fire. We have a video that demonstrates the incredible heat and fire resistant properties of TAP insulation at www.owenanimalcontrol.com have a look, it’s quite a sight.
Pest Control Properties: TAP insulation helps control a wide range of annoying pests that can live and breed in your attic, invading your home in search of food and water. TAP will kill most self-cleaning pests that are exposed to it; the borates that are ingested during grooming will dry out these pests, effectively mummifying them. Pests controlled include cockroaches, termites, ants, silverfish, earwigs, crickets, millipedes and centipedes, and booklice. Borates are products of very low toxicity to mammals; common table salt is seven times more toxic. Boric acid is found in a wide range of household products like eye washes, detergents, and even foods, so risk to homeowners and pets is very low.
IRS Tax Credits: There are a variety of tax incentives available to the homeowner; a $1200 job will typically cost the homeowner $840, once the $360 tax credit is given. You save over 25% of the initial cost. For additional IRS home tax credits visit www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=tax_credits.tx_index and for State tax credits try www.dsireusa.org
We are very pleased to be able to offer this service and are firm believers in the benefits of this fine product. At 3.7 R-value per inch, it is more efficient than loose fiberglass (2.5), fiberglass batts (pads) (3.2) and other loose cellulose fills (3.5). The savings in energy pays for itself in just a few years. And who can put a value on the improved comfort and lack of creepy crawlies that it also provides. This is a very efficient way to bring your home up to Department of Energy standards, which will improve resale value and attractiveness. We can perform complete replacement of contaminated insulation as well as adding on to (capping) existing insulating materials.
If you live in SE Michigan and have an interest in an inspection and quote visit us at www.owenanimalcontrol.com or call 866-730-2154 We look forward to acquainting you with this revolutionary product.
